Inspiration
Abeessinia Herbal is a small family-run herbal business that specialises in the production and processing of 100% organic medicinal and aromatic plants. We provide advice on the use of medicinal plants and sell our homemade products.
We are committed to maintaining biodiversity and a natural ecosystem, which is carefully nurtured and powered by passion and vision. Our various products are a source of phytonutrients, vectors of high therapeutic properties and unique natural aromas.
The Founder of Abeessina Herbal, Ermias Samuel has an educational background in Herbalism, Nutrition & Fair Trade business models, backed up with European diplomas. (incl. Botany, Green Chemistry, Aromatherapy, Phytotherapy, Physiology, Pathophysiology). Abeessinia Herbal is inspired by a wide range of ethical principles :

Through Abeessinia Herbal, we wish to share the benefits of these actions with those who aspire to these virtues.
Our story
Abeessinia Herbal is a labour of love, initiated by the founder and CEO Ermias Samuel. He is the fruit of a rich multicultural background (Breton-Abyssinian), with many years of research and broad practical experience.
Our experiences in Ethiopia are:
- Coordination of humanitarian projects: construction of wells, dry toilets and solar panels in the northern countryside around Debre Tabor
- Experience in the management of a local business
- Association with relevant organizations from the agricultural field
Socially & environmentally responsible projects in France:
- Practice and exchange of knowledge with farmers in a variety of certified organic farms: oil production, essential oils, soaps, traditional wheat, garden produce…
- Advice in health: preventive actions based on the use of medicinal plants, nutrition based on organic plants and food
- Project “Leonardo da Vinci”: internship at Oxfam for the valorisation of fair trade products
- Project “Youth in Action”: production of communication materials on: the environment, human rights, immigration…
Commitments
We are committed to building or consolidating practices that have no negative impact on the environment in the safest possible way. Abeessinia Herbal is committed to a privileged relationship with the living world in all its diversity through demanding and sustainable practices in order to:
- Preserve biodiversity with moderate harvesting to allow species to regenerate
- Prevent deforestation and the conversion of habitats for different
species by leaving protected, untouched and autonomous areas to
maintain a natural ecosystem - Respond to moderate demands by providing new forms of knowledge adapted to different types of soils

Each practice of Abeessinia Herbal will be based on a broad spectrum of
transparency. The integration of new knowledge acquired through
transmissions and exchanges from our dual Franco-Ethiopian cultural background will enable producers to :

In parallel to all these commitments, we wish to make the public of all ages aware of environmental protection through exchanges and practices. We also want to allow them to be attentive to their health and well-being through the consumption of healthy products that result from a production oriented by engaged and committed practices.

We provide home made snacks and drinks.
Our juices, drinks and foods are made instantly without adding sugar.
Every product we craft, ingredients we source as much as possible are from rural organic farming pratices produced on a seasonal basis.
AROMATICS HERBS AND SPICES
Specialized in the world of aromatic and medicinal plants, abeessinia herbal creates a range of powdered beverages to enjoy at any time of day, as well as a variety of spices to enhance your dishes. Thanks to our years of experience, we create a range of unique products. We meticulously select each ingredient and take care to combin their combination to bring out the full range of aromas.
Honey
Our honeys come from protected areas, in an environment that has remained wild since the beginning of time :
- Hives are made of untreated materials, without synthetic paint or varnish.
- The hives are surrounded by wild crops or placed directly in the heart of the forest.
- The bees are fed exclusively with their own honey
- A harvest that excludes the use of chemical repellents
- Cold, unheated and unmixed extraction
- The foraging areas are far from sources of pollution.
