It was about to be the golden hour when I reached my destination for the day; a small yet cozy and vibrant store around 22 Mazoria, on the road in front of Mulmum Bakery. Abeessinia is a herbal store owned and run by Ermi, an Ethiopian repatriate from France who is a certified Herbalist by profession from one of Europe’s leading schools. He’s much more than that, as the store and everything it’s composed of is a passion project and a way that connects him to his roots.

I immediately joined Ermi and our photographer who was having an interesting conversation about honey, the store’s main product for now. As the conversation proceeded and a subtle sound of Jazz Music playing in the background reached my ears, my eyes slowly started wandering to the shelves.
